Does not the Bible seem too voilent?? Moses really teach love?
"(Moses said): 'Each man strap a sword at his side. Coming and going through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor. "(Exodus 32:27-28, NIV) It is a well known fact that the total number of deaths that occurred in all the wars fought during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was 1018. The biblical quotation given above and many others as they seem to escape the clutches of those who allege against Muhammad (pbuh), after ignoring the words of Jesus: "Judge not, lest ye be judged. For with what the judge sentences you, be judged, and what gets you far, are measured to you again. "(Matthew 7:1-2 NIV)
The first Scripture reference is made in reference to the Israelites in rebellion against God's command not to associate with (can not remember the name of tribes) and men who have sex with the women of this tribe, which was against what God had ordained. So many had worked against him, so it was as punishment for his rebellion. Inyhooz Thats what I think your reference, read the chapter. That would help. In reference to Matthew 7:1-2, in all reality is saying, we're going to be ruling in our hands, and stood in the punishment of their such, because in all due time is the judge. Of course love is taught, but then there was deliberate punishment for rebellion. Everything is almost deliberately punishable if Rebell. Only think of that. hope that helped:]
